Zigong Lantern Lights on France
On December 1, Beijing time, sponsored by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and jointly invested by Shengshi Silk Road Co., LTD., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Zigong Cultural Tourism and Investment, and Zigong Lantern Group, the 2022 Chinese Lantern Festival, "Colorful Lights Shining the World and Spreading Civilization", was officially lit up in the Foucault Park in Montaubon, France. The magnificent colored lights add a strong "Chinese flavor" to the night sky of Montaubon. Montaubon Mayor Brigitte Bareges and Deputy Mayor Jean-Pierre Foissac jointly pressed the start button.
The city of Montaubon, located in southwest France, is the political, economic, cultural, transportation and communication center of the region. Since 2017, the Chinese Lantern Festival has been successfully held in France for four times, attracting more than 1.4 million visitors. It has become one of the famous cultural exchange events in France.
The theme of this Lantern Festival is "Rafting on the Yangtze River". It mainly displays three cultural sections: "Enjoying the scenery of China", "exploring the animal world in the forest" and "walking and experiencing the history of Montaubon". It captures the Chinese Yangtze River scenery, Chinese dragons, pandas, the Great Wall and other representative Chinese cultural elements, as well as French elements such as football and paratroopers. With 2,500 lanterns, 80,000 bulbs, 50,000 square meters of silk, 30,000 pieces of ceramics and 180 tons of metal, more than 40 sets of large lanterns and more than 100 sets of various flowers, insects and cartoon images are made. Through the interactive form of intangible heritage Zigong Lantern Fair and modern light and shadow, the magnificent and wonderful lantern culture is presented and the story of China is told. Spread the voice of China, show the credible, lovely and respectable image of China, and integrate Sichuan food, Sichuan opera, acrobatics and other advantageous resources, to create an all-round immersive experience theme lantern fair integrating lantern viewing, catering and entertainment, cultural and creative performance. The Montaubon Municipal government will also hold a music festival at the site of the lantern show, so that visitors can fully experience the exchange and collision of Eastern and Western cultures.
As a state-owned platform company, Zigong Wen Tourism Investment Co., Ltd. has been committed to exporting the brand of Zigong Lantern Fair since its establishment. It has held lantern shows in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Laos and other countries, and the total number of visitors has been more than one million. In October 2021, the lantern "China Power" designed and produced by the company for the China Pavilion of the World Expo lit up Dubai, attracting wide attention from tourists and media around the world, and received a letter of Thanks from the Organizing committee of the China Pavilion of the World Expo.
This time, the Lantern Festival project invested by the company went to sea again, bringing a colorful art and culture feast to the French people thousands of miles away, and will continue to be displayed until February 5th next year, accompany them to spend a happy and peaceful New Year.
