Cambodian Signed Lantern Festival Carnival Contract with Chinese Companies

Cambodian Carnival Culture Management Company announced in Phnom Penh on Saturday that the Carnival, a large-scale cultural and artistic light exhibition jointly created by the company and a number of cultural enterprises from Cambodia and China, will be held in Phnom Penh from May to July. This cultural event lasting for 3 months will help revive tourism in Cambodia.
According to reports, as Cambodia's first "Lantern fair + food + performance parade" multi-functional carnival, this carnival set lights, food, performance in one, including five theme lantern shows: the 32nd Southeast Asian Games theme, Chinese Hanfu Culture Festival theme, International Children's Day theme, Chinese panda culture theme, China Sichuan Deyang Fine goods exhibition.
Organizers say the event will last more than 100 days and will provide a visual feast for both local and foreign visitors. Lantern displays with different themes and one-stop shopping experience are expected to attract millions of people.
Cambodia expects to receive about 4 million international tourists in 2023, based on the continued recovery of world and regional tourism, Cambodian Secretary of State for Tourism Sesay said recently.
Cambodia's hosting of the 32nd Southeast Asian Games and 12th ASEAN Para Games this year is expected to attract a large number of international visitors. Cambodia receives international tourists mainly from Thailand, Vietnam, China, the United States, Laos, Indonesia, South Korea, France, Malaysia and the United Kingdom.
